With babies come dreams.  We look into our baby's eyes and promise to be the best parent we can be.  As new parents, and with each new developmental stage, we look to others for wisdom.  Everyone has an opinion, but with so many differing opinions coming from every direction, you can feel like no choice you make is right, and you can feel sadly incompetent.

People just like you are being programmed for unhappiness and a general sense of lack, by repeating generation after generation of less than effective advice, making true happiness as a parent, a family, or a young athlete - virtually impossible to achieve.  This kind of advice has cheated you and your family of true joy and passion, which has resulted in experiencing life as less than satisfactory!

Old advice binds you into a way of thinking that keeps you, your family and talented youth athletes from being all that you can be.

You have heard that old advice, probably from trusted friends or family . . .

  • OLD ADVICE:  There are only "right ways" and "wrong ways".
  • OLD ADVICE:  You are limited in your ability based on how you were raised, your partner or lack thereof, you or your kid's temperment, your education, your environment, or just bad the luck.
  • OLD ADVICE:  While following your instincts might work for some, it probably won't work for YOU.
  • OLD ADVICE:  Everyone has to suffer, be tired, be overstressed, especially women.

I will teach you things the others have not - simply because they didn't know how . . .

. . . and I will walk you through exactly how to utilize it.

You can decide to leave this page right now, and you know what will happen when you do that?

Everything in you and your family's life will continue to be

exactly the same as it's always been.

Because your your thinking HAS NOT changed.

Because your belief system HAS NOT changed - the one that you're so comfortable with,

and yet has left you wondering how much more you can deal with - will stay intact.

Whether you believe you can do something or not, you are right.

     - Henry Ford

Give yourself the gift of the following thoughts, because if you will just allow yourself to hear this  -  you'll open yourself to . . .

.  .  . unlimited possibility.

The old advice has us focusing on what we cannot change.  Simply by changing our beliefs that do not serve us and putting our focus on things we can change, suddenly we can see

all of our creative abundance and manifest happiness and our desired goals.

Consider this the education and support you've wanted all along.

For if we had learned about our True Self and our True Parent as kids - if we had been allowed and encouraged to follow our passions and bliss - including the rite of passage of Parenthood, what a different world it would be!

Being connected to your True Self and gaining confidence in your instinct and intuition comes from integrating the mind, body and heart.  It transforms isolation, anger and hopelessness and uncovers the fertile ground of compassion and cooperation for the whole family.

Just like our little ones, you don't have to know how to run

 - to take the first step.

In addition to the FREE Family Solutions Newsletter, there are live interactive group teleclasses, subject-specific follow-up teleseminars, personal parent, family and youth athete coaching, articles, audio, and expert interviews.  All are specifically designed to bring forth the best of you  - to awaken and clear the pathway to be  .  .  .

Parent Coaching - highlighted in July 2007

[excerpts] . . . . "You’ve probably perused the labyrinth of parenting books out there, and still feel like your questions are sometimes left unanswered. Good news: YOU’RE NOT ALONE!!  . . . [Parent Coaching will] regain your position as the parent by illustrating to your child that you’re establishing boundaries that will be followed through with consistency."

The New York Times

"Parent Coaching, the newest self-help approach for overstretched parents, is catching on for several reasons...It is usually done by phone, letting parents squeeze in sessions without hiring baby sitters or taking time from work...Several parents said coaches have helped them change their children's behavior, or at least not get so upset or harbor unrealistic expectations." - The New York Times, March 13, 2005

The Savannah Morning News

[excerpts from article - Local Woman Launches Parenting Venture]

. . . . "the time was right".

So, Sharon [O'Sullivan] launched Parenting with Kindness, an Internet venture through which she offers telephone conference-call classes and one-on-one coaching for folks in need of help with raising their children.

The 41-year-old mom of two elementary school-age boys had decided - over the course of the past two or three years - to build up to her goal of becoming a public speaker on parenting by employing a Web site and teleclasses as a starting point.

"But I was completely overwhelmed with the idea of doing a Web site, because I knew nothing about it," said Sharon, who holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and a master's in personal and organizational development from the San Francisco Bay area's John F. Kennedy University.

Web solution

She overcame that Internet hurdle via a conversation with her sister, who was developing a Web site and who nudged Sharon in the direction of giving it a try.

Sharon found some user-friendly aids to Web site development and wound up creating her own site . . . . and her new business was off and running.

She's dealt with the sluggish economy by offering bonus packages to people who enlist her services.

"I've made it as economical as possible," she said of her venture, which can be found online at

Parenting with Kindness, she told me during an interview last month, "is about remembering that children are born with an innate goodness, and learning to reconnect with the love you have with your children, and falling in love with them again and again and again."

"By connecting with your true parent inside you," she said of the intuitive side of a person's nature, "you can take a breath before making a choice to yell or not to yell and find that inner compassion and love that will support and nurture your entire family."

Model solution

Much of what she does, she said, is aimed at helping her clients "take responsibility and be role models for their children."

In addition to teleclasses and coaching, Sharon also offers a free, online newsletter that's updated monthly.

Starting in 1987, the native of northern Wisconsin worked for 10 years as a program director and counselor in the world of mental health nonprofits in her home state and in California . . . . while living in Indianapolis, she worked in sales, taught classes in self-improvement, and owned a small health food business . . . ."  - By Rich Wittish - Savannah Morning News, Feb. 11, 2009

Not now, Mommy's not feeling good . . .

(part 1)

Feel worn out? Tired? Got the cold or flu the kids brought home from their friends?

The day-in and day-out demands of a parent's life can leave a person feeling not their best, and then it's even harder to be a patient and loving role model and parent. Add onto that, lack of sleep, consuming extra caffeine and sugar for energy, hitting the fast food places and processed frozen dinners too many times a week, all leave our immune systems susceptible to whatever is going around at the time.

I have created this multi-part series on some natural helpers from Mother Nature, to help today's parents be the best they can be.

Meet Sharon -

Your Positive Change Mentor

We all have a True Parent in us, and if we can quiet ourselves, even if just for the moments between wanting to yell and making the choice of yelling or not - we can bring forth this inner wisdom, compassion and patience.

We all want the best for our family, and talented young athletes, artists and academically gifted kids have incredible pressure in today's world.  Helping them maintain the all important sense of balance between finding their mental performance edge and staying aligned with their True Self is a monumental task not easily undertaken.

You are not alone.
Sharon has a gift of being able to find the essence of a situation and bring forth solutions.  With her wisdom, patience and compassion, she can help you find your True Parent, your family's happiness, and your young talented star's personal place of strength and peace .  For this is the biggest gift you can give your family.

This personal coaching will teach you to attune yourself to your True Self, so you can be rest assured that when you take your next step, there is solid ground beneath your feet.

She will help mentor you and your family to be consistant and responsible, help you to let go of stuck situations, and much more.  But overall, Sharon will teach you to be a great role model for your children, one step at a time.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and

It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events.

Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

-Melodie Beattie

“Cleaning and scrubbing can wait for tomorrow,

For babies grow up, I’ve learned, to my sorrow.

So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep.

I’m rocking my baby, and babies don’t keep.”

(written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, 'Later. Now go get washed up for dinner..'

There would have been more 'I love you's' More 'I'm sorry's.'

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute.  Look at it and really see it . Live it and never give it back.  STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!
